IT DOESN'T ADD UP

It doesn’t add up!

Let me see if I got this right

Just let me see if I understand

You’re showing me this world

All the pleasures it has

The money, the homes, the cars

The stars the limit

Prestige & fame

Set me on a pedestal

I'm thinking this can’t be true

I can spend all my time watching TV

I can spend all my time at the movies

All the things I love to do

Listen to worldly music stations

Anticipating new sounds

Creating emotions for………..

More worldly cravings

I get to have friends to hang out with

When they’re not real

They are there for only syphoning  

Just takers

Stealing my time

Feeding off my energy

Spending my money

The girls

They call me honey, sugar, baby, lover

And when they can’t get their way

All that

Honey-ing , sugar-ing , babying , & loving

Is dispersed, displayed to other brethren

Just like I was

It doesn’t add up!

And you keep on telling me

That I can pray to GOD!

Then in the next breath

I can use profanity?

You say I’m a child of the king!

When I’m not REPRESENTING HIM?

It just not adding up

When!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The bible says

“ BE HOLY “ for he is HOLY!

And this same wonderful HE!

The great amazing architect

Who died for me!

So he can allow me a pardon of

Freedom

From this same sin

You’re trying to get me to indulge in

I was washed CLEAN with his precious

Personally sin-free blood

Turn my back on him?

When he offers life more abundantly

He promised

When I’m sick, to heal me

When I’m tired, down & don’t feel happy

He’ll uplift me!

I got a great deal on a flight 

To a mansion in the sky!

Where there is no more pain

No more tears will come to my eyes any more

I will live forever never get old

In a non-mortal body

Never die again!

Like you’ll burn & expire

That’s your end!

The dusk of your remains
Will fertilize the universe

No more!

While I will reign with him

To worship & praise him

Like it was intended to be

It just doesn’t add up

My LORD, his nail scarred hands & feet

I missed something that would make me ignore

His goodness & mercy?
